Virstyne Henry twisted and screamed her way
into this world on April 18,1978. Born and raised in Los Angeles,
California this red hot Aries was introduced to Hollywood at a very early
age. Her parents tried to get her into commercials when she was a child,
but at that time in her life she just wasn't interested. " I had more fun
playing with Legos than acting," said Virstyne. Ironically at age 13 she
made the commitment to herself and the world that she would pursue acting.
"This meant, says Virstyne with a smug smile, no more fights after school
. I didn't want to ruin my 'pretty' face." |

Soon after junior high she attended Hollywood High Performing Arts
Magnet. " That's where I really got a lot of my experience, not just with
the craft of performing but with the different types of creative,
eccentric, extremely enigmatic and enjoyable creatures that artist are."
She attended and received a B.A. From San Francisco State University in
Theatre Arts. There she acted in plays such as Mad Forrest, Much
Ado About Nothing, Hallelujah I'm a Bum, I am What I am
and Reflections. " I did a lot of experimental projects. Those were
the best because they forced me to use my imagination and take big risks.
I feel because of that I was able to grow tremendously as an actor. " She
also did off campus plays with The San Francisco Mime Troupe Revenger
Rat and the Merchant of Death and Inside Out. " That was really great!
It forced me to keep up because the actors I was working with were
enormously talented and had been acting for years. It was intimidating but
an incredible learning experience. It was also my first paying job as an
actress. " |
Her senior year she wrote a play that was produced by the department
Varicella Zoster. She describes it as an out of body
experience. " I say out of body experience because you put so much of
yourself in your play weather you intend to or not. When you are acting
you are playing someone else, When you write, and see other actors
recreate and unravel the riddle of your life you have written. It's like
stepping out of your body and watching yourself its...surreal." |

films such as The Party, Cannibals, Through Time, The Werewolf of
Compton, Ethnic Inclusiveness, and the Girl Who Married
Jesus.Although the acting business is competitive and
heartbreaking at times, her quote to keep on keepin' on is "The
future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
